Why the drawer height matters more than the tray height
Three of these organizers have bodies about 2½ in tall but state minimum drawer heights of 3¼ to 3.5 in. A tiered tray needs room above its body to be used as designed. A drawer with 3 in of clear height would take the body of any of them and still fall short of the stated minimum. The size check on this site shows that requirement for each listed model and does not report “within” when it is not met.
Who should skip which model
Skip the three fixed tiered trays when your closed-drawer clear height is below the model’s stated minimum. Skip the expandable tray when the drawer is narrower than 11½ in, and remember that passing at the minimum width does not mean the tray can expand in that drawer.
