Two kinds of drawing
Measurement drawings are made in code from the dimensions published on each record’s source page. Painted illustrations are drafted with an image model the operator directs, then cropped and placed by hand. Both are drawings, and neither is evidence that a product was tested. No illustration shows a real kitchen or a real person. Illustrations on guides and the home page show kinds of organizers; a painted drawing of a specific model appears on its card only after it has been drawn from that model’s published description and dimensions.
One fixed style
The painted illustrations keep graph paper, thin ink lines, matte gouache and no lettering. Drawings of a specific model use the colors of its material, with one terracotta accent where the fit is decided. A product card can show a model up to three ways — from above, in place, and cut through the cabinet — alongside the drawings made from its measurements.
Where the numbers come from
The rules every figure is held to are on the methodology page, the records themselves are published under the size check, and the pages that take individual figures apart are the guides.
The reference drawer in the comparison drawings is one manufacturer’s published dimensions, named on the drawing itself. The numbers on any drawing come from the source page named on the record, or from arithmetic on those numbers; nothing here is measured by us.
The photographs that used to be here
This page previously credited stock photographs used under the Unsplash license. Those photographs were removed on September 11, 2026 and replaced by the drawings described above, so the site now shows only pictures made for it.
